Complete Guide to Wireless Router Setup for 6G Network
Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 introduce the 6GHz band to cope with the network congestion caused by the increase of wireless devices, providing more channel options and spectrum resources to support higher data transfer rate and lower network latency.
In this article, we will go through the process of configuring the 6GHz SSID for Omada APs and provide some useful tips and key features to be used when setting up your 6G network.
Enabling 6 GHz WiFi
To enable the 6 GHz WiFi, follow these steps:
- Navigate to UniFi Network> Settings > WiFi.
- Select an existing WiFi or create a new one.
- Ensure the 6 GHz compatible AP is checked in the list of Broadcasting APs.
- Toggle the Advanced settings to Manual.
- Enable the 6 GHz WiFi Band.

Tip: Keeping 5 GHz enabled may facilitate devices joining the 6 GHz band.
Troubleshooting Issues
Some WiFi client devices might experience trouble connecting to the 6 GHz band due to previously configured and saved network settings. If your device can't detect or connect to the 6 GHz band, try resetting its network settings to the factory defaults, and then reconnect to your WiFi network.
