Trademark Class Search Validation: A Comprehensive Guide
Understanding Trademark Classification
When it comes to trademark registration, it is crucial to complete a thorough search before applying to ensure that your trademark is available for registration and does not conflict with existing trademarks. TMclass, a powerful tool provided by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), helps you search for and classify goods and services needed to apply for trademark protection.
Trademark classification, also known as classification of goods and services, is an essential step in the trademark registration process. It involves categorizing goods and services into various classes to define the scope of protection and facilitate the examination process. By selecting the correct class, you can efficiently navigate the process, enabling successful trademark registration and portfolio management.

Class Number Search Validation
One of the key features of TMclass is its class number search validation. You can search for a class number in the "Classic" search mode to retrieve all goods and services in that class and any descriptions containing the class number. The class number must be entered in three digits, with quotation marks optional.
For instance, if you want to search for all goods and services in Class 18, you would enter "018" in the search box. This will retrieve all trademarks registered under Class 18 and their corresponding descriptions.
